Amy Bowman Bio
Born in San Diego, California, and raised in Boise, Idaho, Amy began Irish dancing at the age of 12. Her love for the art form was instantaneous and she worked her way up through the levels to champion and eventually into leadership. In 2012, she co-founded and ran a performance-based Irish dance troupe for six years before relocating to Utah to pursue her college education.
Amy moved to Biloxi in 2020 after a summer visit turned into a life-changing love for the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She quickly immersed herself in the community and is now a proud resident, serving on the Board of Directors for the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce and as the Treasurer of the Hibernia Irish Society.
In 2021, Amy began teaching Irish dance on the Coast and is the Director of the Mississippi location of the Niall O’Leary School of Irish Dance. With over 15 years of experience teaching children and adults alike, she has introduced hundreds to the unique joy of Irish dance.
In 2023, Amy founded Feisin’ the Coast, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting, fostering, and advancing interest and awareness of Irish culture through dance, song, and music. She directed the first-ever Irish festival and dance competition on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, welcoming over 100 dancers from across the country. By 2024, the event had grown by over 20%, earning recognition and support from the Consulate General of Ireland in Miami. In 2025, her team hosted a successful Irish music and dance concert in Ocean Springs featuring the Irish band Emerald Accent, further cementing the organization’s events as a cornerstone of the region’s Irish cultural calendar.
Amy Bowman is a passionate advocate for Irish culture on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and is excited to be performing and teaching at CelticFest 2025.
