June 3-4, 2022
We return to Lakeshore Park to kick off summer with all things Irish & Scottish and MORE! Our Highland Games competition returns, led by Backyard Rebellion Highland Games and Danny Webster. We’ll once again have Pro Athletes compete in their own class along with Amateur divisions for men and women. We’re delighted to announce that we have been selected as the location for the National Men’s Lightweight Championship! Thanks to Strength Empire Memphis & Pro Athlete Garret Blatnik for underwriting the Championship game!
Muggivan School of Irish Dance will host our Feis Dance Competition with registration through Feisworx. Come see Irish Dancers from around the country compete in this beautiful location!
Our Headliners for 2022 are the amazing trio of Kevin Crawford, Colin Farrell & Dave Curley! Top NOTCH Traditional Irish musicians! They’ll be joined by other CelticFest favorites including Copley Street with Joey Abarta & Nathan Gorley, Jackie O’Riley & Rebecca MacGowan return as our Dance Masters and hometown favorites, Emerald Accent and The Old Ways will also take the stage among others. We’re also pleased to introduce CelticFest audiences to Doon the Brae this year. A phenomenal Scottish quartet out of Nashville. More to be announced as the ink dries on the contracts!
Thrilled to have the Shire of Iron Ox back this year after a multi year absence due to scheduling conflicts (and wee beasties). They are the local chapter for the Society for Creative Anachronism in central Mississippi and a favorite at CelticFest! They will be demonstrating medieval battle weapons and clothing in the Shire encampment.
Our friends at Cool Creek Highlands will be back with the local Highland Coos- we LOVE them- and Southern Farms will be presenting Sheepdog Herding Demos, a petting zoo and Horse Rides in the Lakeshore Dog Park.
We’ll have Céilí dancing both nights led by Jackie & Rebecca and if you’ve been before you know that is THE most fun thing you’ll ever do at a festival!
Of course there will be Food and Merchandise Vendors for your shopping and dining pleasure so bring you appetite!
Parking at Lakeshore Park is free but somewhat limited so we HIGHLY encourage carpooling or even Uber/Lyft-ing it! Overflow parking will be at Pelahatchie Shore Park down the road.
As always, CelticFest is a rain or shine event with plenty of huge tents to keep dry under if we happen to have any Irish or Scottish weather. You are most welcome to bring popup tents & portable chairs for the Great Lawn near the main Water’s Edge Stage. We love the idea of tailgating at CelticFest so bring the whole family! Just remember there is no outside food or drink allowed.
Leashed Pups are also welcome but be advised the Dog Park at Lakeshore Park will be utilized by our sheep and horses so no dogs will be allowed inside that fenced area at any time.
Tell ALL your Friends and come celebrate with us in June!
