What happens at CelticFest Mississippi?
CelticFest annually features two international-caliber performers. Visit the Performers page for more information on headliners and our other performers.
The festivities begin Thursday night with the Filum event. CelticFest proper is under full sail on Friday evening, finishing up Sunday evening.
An ever popular highlight of CelticFest, the massive Céilí Mór Dance (pronounced ‘kay-lee’) caps off the Saturday night with three shifts of live music. “They don’t turn out like this in Ireland! This is astounding!,” said Eoin Verling of the Fuchsia Band.
In addition to stage performances, the weekend is full of opportunities to participate and learn at one of the many free music, dance, or cultural workshops. Work shops are generally conducted by CelticFest performers and are geared towards general audiences with an interest in the topic.
The children won’t be left out— CelticFest is a family-friendly festival! There will be a Children’s Area with activities they can do with their parents, plus kid-oriented vendors on the grounds.
The Celtic Heritage Society is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with the mission of promoting and preserving the arts and culture of the Celtic nations. CelticFest is a family-oriented event, and all CHS events are open to the public.
