 The 4th annual 'Blásta' Wine Tasting is NOT just another wine tasting. It's a fine selection of wines for regular folks in a casual, arrive-when-you-like-setting. You set the pace and experience wines from around the world in a variety of styles and colors.
The Blásta (pronounced BLAW-sta) Wine Tasting features a fine selection of wines for regular folks in a casual, arrive-when-you-like-setting. A self-paced event, Blásta shares this distinguishing format with the Fíon Pour, another wine tasting benefit in August. Both tastings aim to introduce regular folks to great-yet-affordable wines, are organized by Wine & Spirits in the Quarter and Fenian’s, and raise funds for CelticFest Mississippi.
An array of dry whites, sweet whites, reds, and rosés will be available at several different “stations” and staffed by a wine expert. Participants can meander from station to station, sampling and learning about the wines. Scorecards are provided so that participants can keep track of their favorites. Fenian’s caters a number of hors d’ oeuvres will also be available to cleanse the palette.
It's a wine tasting for the common wallet. The folks at Wine & Spirits in the Quarter and Fenian's Irish Pub know that there are many great wines available at affordable prices. The Blásta tasting is intended to introduce the newbie and seasoned connoisseur alike to these great, inexpensive wines. Participants also get to keep their glass, a break-resistant titanium crystal glass from Schott Zwiesel (a $12 value).
 Tickets are $20 with advance online purchase, or $25 at the door. CHS members enjoy a $5 discount. The venue is Fenian's Irish Pub on the corner of Jefferson and Fortification Streets. This is a smoke free event!!
The Blásta Wine Tasting is a benefit event, with all funds to support the 19th Annual CelticFest Mississippi, which runs Sept. 10-12 at the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Museum.
