MISSION

CelticFest Mississippi and the Celtic Heritage Society began in 1991 and was granted Non Profit 501(c)3 status. We have no paid staff and are 100% volunteer run. All of the revenue generated by memberships, sponsors, ticket & merchandise sales go to cover the expenses of the Festival and other events during the year, if revenue allows. Our mission is to promote & preserve the Cultural Arts & Athletics from the Celtic Nations of Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Brittany, Isle of Man, Cornwall and Galicia.

We began as a one day Irish Music festival in Jackson and had a wonderful partnership with the Mississippi Agriculture Museum. After having to cancel in 2020 just two weeks before the festival we made the decision for 2021 to move to an outdoor location on the Barnett Reservoir in Brandon. Lakeshore Park, now known as Bobby Cleveland Park at Lakeshore, has afforded us the ability to have proper competition Highland Games as well as many other benefits including an incredible water view.

We have changed dates a couple of times since 2018 looking for the right fit and are delighted to be on the second weekend in October beginning with the 2023 festival. We look forward to continuing to grow and offer incredible music, dance and athletics to all!
