Slip Jig SlipJig belongs to a small but growing community of musicians in north Alabama playing Irish, Scottish and other styles that you might generally think of as “Celtic”. SlipJig has been entertaining enthusiastic crowds all over the southeastern United States since forming in 2004. Their style varies from the purely traditional to the, well… not so traditional. While their natural habitat is playing in the back corner of an Irish pub or in a small listening-room, veteran musicians Mike Clem (guitar, tenor banjo), Phil Williamson (fiddle, octave mandolin), Mike Lyon (whistles, highland pipes, uilleann pipes), Jim Holland (mandolin, tenor banjo), and Amanda Williams (vocals) are right at home on a festival stage or in a concert hall. Their versatility and willingness to step outside the box has landed them in collaborations with a 180-voice choir and a 30-piece brass band.
