Bill Petersen is an exceptional maker of fine fretted instruments. He specializes in Irish style bouzoukis, octave mandolins, citterns, and mandolas, and his custom work includes guitars, banjos, and one-of-a-kind instruments. All of his instruments are hand crafted using solid wood, with his production limited to about 50 instruments a year. Bill completely designs and builds every instrument on his own. Bill will be presenting a fascinating Heritage Workshop at CelticFest entitled, "Turning Wood into Music" in which he'll address many of the finer points of stringed instruments and instrument making for Celtic musicians.
