John Burleson and Peg Roach Loyd are a dynamic duo at CelticFest.
Well-known to CelticFest, Burleson (storyteller, guitar, bodhran) is a native of Texas and lifelong collector and teller of stories from Ireland, the British Isles, and Native America. His CD, The Winding Way, includes the Celtic story “Circle of Stones”. Burleson, formerly with the band, Lost Tribe, is featured on the CD, The Bonny Wooden Witch.
Loyd (singer/songwriter, guitar/bodhran/Irish whistle) lives in Little Rock, AR and released her debut solo CD, Carving in Stone, in 2008. The CD features traditional Irish songs and original songs written in the traditional style, including two award-winning songs. The Fiddler’s Feet, won a gold medal at the 2008 Midwest Fleadh and The Forgotten Ten, won a bronze medal at this year’s Midwest Fleadh. Loyd also won a silver medal for bodhran. This is the second year Loyd has qualified to compete at the All-Ireland.
